In the “Istat Code” section, the companies
working in Umbria are classified based on the type of work they conduct,
according to the criteria set by the National Institute of Statistics. There
are 17 subcategories in all and they summarise the region’s business system.
Manufacturing and production (clothing, textiles, shoes, food, confectionary
products, water and beverages, alcoholic beverages and wines), construction,
realty, rentals, IT, research and other professional activities predominate.
